A weakness has been discovered in the BRS WebWeaver FTP server. The problem lies in the encryption scheme used to store encoded passwords. It has been discovered that the algorithm used to encode user passwords may be trivially reversed by an attacker. Access to user passwords may aid an attacker in launching further attacks against target systems.
