It has been reported that PlatinumFTPserver fails to properly sanitize FTP commands. By sending a malicious request to the vulnerable server, using directory traversal sequences, it is possible for a remote attacker to cause a denial of service condition. Restarting the vulnerable service will be required to restore functionality. It has been reported that this issue is still present in versions 1.0.10 and 1.0.11.
