A buffer overflow condition has been discovered in the uux program shipped with IRIX operating systems. Precise details regarding the cause of the overflow are not yet known. Exploitation of this issue could result in the execution of arbitrary code with elevated privileges. It should be noted that the uux program is part of the eoe.sw.uucp package, which is not installed by default. This vulnerability could be similar to the issue described in bid 2947.
