Solaris is a freely available implementation of the Unix Operating System. It is maintained and distributed by Sun Microsystems. A problem has been discovered that may allow local users to write data to restricted terminals. The problem is in the handling of the access control entries by the terminals. An access control entry on a terminal is not cleared when released by it's owner, and assigned to a new user. This makes it possible for one user to write to another terminal.
