IRIX is a derivative of the UNIX Operating System distributed by SGI. It is designed for use on systems manufactured by SGI. A problem with IRIX makes it possible for a remote user to deny service to legitimate users of the system. By sending malformed Internet Gateway Management Protocol packets to a vulnerable system, it is possible to cause the system to crash. Versions of IRIX prior 6.5.9 are no longer supported, and thus will not have a patch created.
