The IRIX SNMP daemon is vulnerable to a remotely exploitable buffer overflow condition. The condition can be triggered if remote attackers send a malicious malformed SNMP request to a vulnerable server. A public read-only community present by default may allow for remote exploitation without any sort of authentication. Succesful attacks may lead to complete compromise of affected systems.
