Tru64 is a variant of the Unix Operating System originally developed by Digital. Is it distributed and maintained by Compaq. It has been discovered that Tru64 is vulnerable to the problems reported in Bugtraq ID 4088 "Multiple Vendor SNMP Trap Handling Vulnerabilities" and 4089 "Multiple Vendor SNMP Request Handling Vulnerabilities." The SNMP agent included with Tru64 systems is vulnerable to crashing when certain types of traffic are received. When maliciously crafted traffic is received by the agent, the agent becomes unstable and dumps core. A manual restart is required to resume the service.
