A vulnerability has been discovered in the rcp utility for the HP-UX operating system. This issue is due to insufficient bounds checking of command line arguments by rcp. By exploiting this issue to overwrite memory it may be possible for an attacker to execute arbitrary instructions. As the rcp utility is typically installed setuid root, all commands executed by an attacker will be run with the privileges of the superuser.
