Embedded Support Partner (ESP) is an infrastructure that is integrated into the IRIX operating system for the purposes of support. The ESP daemon, rpc.espd, contains a buffer overflow vulnerability that may allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code. The ESP daemon runs with root privileges. Successful exploitation would result in a complete compromise of the system.
